Jazz at Brushwood 2009 Sponsors Honored

Home of the Sparrow honored Jazz at Brushwood 2009 sponsors at a cocktail party at the home of Lisa and Joe Kohn in Devon on My 17th. Sponsors enjoyed strolling the Kohns’ lovely gardens and spending the afternoon with old and new friends.

Board President and event chairperson Stacy Sempier welcomed the guests and thanked them for their support. Stacy also thanked the Kohns for hosting the party.

Sparrow CEO Patricia McLennan updated guests on the agency’s new Supportive Housing Program. McLennan shared stories on the progress that program participants have made in their struggle to become independent and self-sufficient. She spoke about the hard work and determination of these women.

Sponsors were also treated to a preview of the many items offered in the live and silent auctions. In keeping with this year’s theme, “An Evening in Tuscany”, the premiere item in this year’s live auction is a week’s stay in a Tuscan villa for up to 10 people. Included in the trip is a tour of Poggia Castiono Winery. One lucky bidder will have the chance to invite a friend for lunch and a round of golf at Waynesborough Country Club, with former Flyers Bernie Parent and Joe Watson rounding out the foursome!

Other items include a week in Amelia Island, a week in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and a week in Daniel Island, Charleston’s island town. Michael Cook Jewelers has provided a beautiful gold and diamond bracelet. The Desmond Hotel in Malvern has provided a cocktail party for 10 at the Sunset Grille.

The silent auction offers something for everyone including jewelry, artwork, restaurant certificates and more.
