Education Is The Key To Independence
Home of the Sparrow deeply believes that education is the key to independence and self-sufficiency for our clients. To that end we have created the Elizabeth B. Stull Education Fund, which benefits the women and children in our Transitional Housing Program.
The Fund is designed to facilitate participation in educational, vocational and enrichment programs, as well as life skills training programs.
Our Clients receive grants to cover the cost of books, test fees, supplies, tuition assistance and application fees, which are sometimes their last hurdle to participating in an educational program.
For their children the Fund may be used for art, music and computer programs, enrichment programs and camp programs.
- Funds have helped women and children attend:
- CAT Brandywine School of Nursing
- Delaware County Community College
- Philadelphia Institute of Art
- West Chester University
- Springhouse Computer School
- West Chester Borough Day Camp
- YMCA of West Chester area Day Camp
