Chief Executive Officer Patricia McLennan, CPA, has served as CEO since August 2000. Previously she held the positions of Treasurer (1996-1998) and President (1998-2000) of the Board of Directors. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Widener University with a BS in Business Administration, a member of Phi Kappa Phi national honor society and the Great Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Director of Volunteer Services Virginia Parry joined the agency in 1998. She is a cum laude graduate of Muhlenberg College where she earned a BA in English. Her volunteering experience is extensive and includes service on the committees for two school district strategic plans, the local park and recreation committee and projects for Habitat for Humanity.
Director of Operations Darla Nutter joined the agency in 2000. Darla is a native of Fargo, ND and earned an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Aakers Business College. Darla has extensive experience in office administration. She manages the day-to-day administrative operations of the agency and provides support to our special event committees.
Clinical Supervisor Nicole Hall joined the agency in June 2007. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Eastern University and her Master's Degree in Social Work from Widener University. Nicole supervises the agency's Transitional Housing and Supportive Housing Programs. She also works with program graduates through our Outreach Program. Prior to joining Home of the Sparrow, Nicole counseled children and families involved with juvenile probation in Chester County and the Chester County Department of Children, Youth and Families.
HomeShare Coordinator Matrie Johnson, MS joined the agency in November 2006. She holds a BS in Marketing from Howard University and an MS in Non-Profit Management from Eastern University. Matrie has worked extensively with homeless women and children and co-founded a mentoring program for homeless women at a family shelter in Philadelphia. Matrie has expanded the former HomeShare in our new Shared Housing Program.
Program Coordinator Ujwala Sawant joined the agency in July 2009. She is a cum laude graduate of Immaculata University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree... Prior to joining the agency full-ti8me, Ujwala managed Home of the Sparrow's Project Independence, a financial education program. In her new role she provides case management services to clients in the Transitional Housing Program.
Program Coordinator Priscilla Cathers joined the agency in August 2009. She is a graduate of Howard Payne University in Bronxwood, Texas where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. While living in Texas, Priscilla worked with a non-profit inner city school in Houston. In her role at Home of the Sparrow she provides case management services to clients in the Transitional Housing Program.
Supportive Housing Coordinator Colette Grosso joined the agency in August 2009. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Ithaca College where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Colette is currently pursuing a dual Master's Degree in Social Work and Human Sexuality at Widener University. She provides case management services to clients in the agency's new Supportive Housing Program.
Property Manager Bruce Field has been with the agency since its inception in 1995. He worked to help us to acquire our first residence in Paoli. He went on to lead the volunteer effort in renovating our first agency-owned property in West Chester, PA. Bruce has been invaluable in overseeing the maintenance, repairs and upkeep of all of our properties, as well as offering his assistance with our special events.
